SLIPPERY ROCK — A Butler resident and business owner known for her community involvement is one of four Slippery Rock University alumni that will be honored by the university next week.

Gail Paserba, a 1990 SRU graduate who went on to found International Quality Consultants (IQC) — a quality control, inspection and training services company — with her husband will be honored with the university's annual Distinguished Alumni Award on Oct. 13, during a dinner at the Russell Wright Alumni House.

The awards honor SRU alumni who have distinguished themselves professionally and personally, according to the university's website.

Paserba, who graduated from SRU with a degree in elementary education, said that amounts to “doing the right thing.”

“When you do something that you're passionate about for so many years, you just do what needs to be done,” she said.

A full report will appear in the Butler Eagle.
