CENTER TWP — Steak lovers can support a worthy cause while enjoying a great meal on Wednesday.

Texas Roadhouse has announced that seven Western Pennsylvania restaurants will donate profit on Wednesday to the American Red Cross and other local organizations to help communities impacted by hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

Kelly Huffman, managing partner at the Texas Roadhouse at Clearview Mall, said there are 71 Texas Roadhouse restaurants in Texas alone, and about 15 in Florida.

He said countless employees in those states have been affected by the hurricanes, and many restaurants were closed because staff could not get there, they were damaged or flooded or delivery trucks could not access them.

Huffman said the company responded to the devastation by preparing and handing out more than 60,000 meals in Texas to anyone who needed them after Harvey had passed.

To participate in the event at the Butler restaurant on Wednesday, Huffman said all residents have to do is show up hungry. No special flyer or coupon is needed. The business is open from 3 to 10 p.m.

A full report will appear in the Butler Eagle.
