Rt. 228 roundabout work suspended
CLINTON TWP — Work on the roundabout near the intersection of Route 228 West and Saxonburg Boulevard is scheduled to stop until next spring.
State Department of Transportation officials announced on Thursday that due to utility issues, the project will be completed next year.
Work on the roundabout started in September 2016.
A PennDOT press release said paving, line painting, permanent signs, landscaping and highway lighting will be finished before the project ends in the next several weeks. Work will then begin in the spring.
Westminster Road, which has been closed since May, will reopen once the paving for this season in completed.
The road was closed to facilitate construction of the new Route 228 alignment.
