KC wants to keep momentum going vs. Chucks

This is one in a series of previews on Friday night's high school football games. For Karns City, it's all about momentum.“Momentum is what you believe in,” Gremlins coach Ed Conto said. “Our kids have been gaining in that area.“What kind of momentum does Punxsutawney have right now? We have to find that out.”The Gremlins (2-2) host the Chucks (1-3) at 7 p.m. Friday at Diehl Stadium. We haven't faced a team that does that (option reads) yet.”Dylan Ishman has thrown for 440 yards and seven touchdowns. He has rushed for a net 91 yards, but was sacked seven times last week as the Chucks managed negative one yard in total offense against Brookville.Tyler Richardson has 18 catches for 280 yards and five TDs for Punxsutawney.Karns City rushed for 545 yards against St,. Marys. Dalton Beham has 338 yards rushing on the year, Sebastian Troutman 267 and Clay Garing 246.“We don't have the breakaway back this year, so we have to grind the ball downfield to be effective,” Conto said. “We're getting better at that.“We're young and I expected us to have to correct mistakes. High school football teams are more even talent-wise than most people think. Confidence and technique make the difference. We've been having the kids focus on one particular technique each week, get that down, then we move on to something else. We're slowly improving.”The Gremlins hold an 8-1 lead over the Chucks in the series between the teams.
