Butler man sentenced for heroin delivery

A Butler man charged with selling heroin was sentenced to county prison in Butler County Court on Thursday.

Chad R. McWilliams, 35, was sentenced to 12 months minus one day to 24 months minus two days in Butler County Prison by Judge William Shaffer.

The sentence also states that McWilliams is work release and community service eligible and can be paroled to house arrest with electronic monitoring after six months.

He was initially charged with two felony counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and one count each of felony criminal use of a communication facility, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident in Butler on Oct. 16, 2015.

Police said he sold four stamp bags of heroin to an informant at an East Jefferson Street convenience store.
