1:28 a.m. Saturday — A Clay Township man suffered an apparent overdose at a home on the 300 block of Zeigler Avenue.

A woman who lives there called 911 to report awakening to find 47-year-old Robert P. Kummer unconscious in a bedroom. She told authorities he had previously consumed a 12-pack of beer and snorted a stamp bag of suspected heroin, according to a police report.

A Butler Ambulance Service crew responded and Kummer was revived with the opioid antidote Narcan. He was subsequently taken to Butler Memorial Hospital.

6:09 p.m. Sunday — Shawn A. Klinefelter, 41, was arrested on charges he assaulted his wife, Megan Klinefelter, during a domestic dispute at their home on the 2000 block of Three Degree Road.

Klinefelter is accused of hitting the victim on the back of the neck and pushing her against the wall, court documents said.

District Judge Lewis Stoughton arraigned the defendant on charges of simple assault and harassment. He was released on his own recognizance.

9:56 p.m. Sunday — Marcus A. Fair, 32, was arrested after he allegedly threatened his wife, Leann Bard, with a kitchen knife during a domestic dispute at their Jacks Mobile Home Park on Linda Drive.

The alleged victim told police that Fair “took the knife to her and began stabbing at her face and neck, not making contact,” according to court documents. She apparently was uninjured.

District Judge Lewis Stoughton arraigned Fair on charges of terroristic threats and reckless endangerment. He was placed in Butler County Prison on $50,000 bail.

2:50 a.m. Monday — An Allegheny County man was arrested on felony assault and other charges after he allegedly choked his girlfriend during a domestic dispute at her home at the Old Plank Road.

Ewari W. Ellis, 34, of Coraopolis was placed in Butler County Prison on $50,000 bail following his arraignment.

Police spoke to the alleged victim, 20-year-old Allysa Stefanowicz, at a neighbor’s home where she fled after the assault, according to court documents. She told officers she believed the defendant was still at her apartment.

But when they checked the apartment, police found Ellis was gone. In a bedroom, they found the couple’s 15-month-old child unharmed in a crib.

Stefanowicz recounted that the defendant had punched her in the nose three times and choked her with both of his hands, documents said. She managed to get away.

However, she said, he later pushed her against the wall and again choked her nearly to unconsciousness. Police said she had bruising on both sides of the neck and swelling and redness around the left eye.

Ellis eventually took off, leaving the infant alone, after Stefanowicz fled for help, documents said.

At 5 a.m., police found Ellis walking on Litman Road. He was carrying two allegedly stolen cell phones — one belonging to Stefanowicz and the other to a Coraopolis man.

Ellis is charged with aggravated assault, child endangerment, simple assault, theft and receiving stolen property.

Monday — Bradley A. Wheeler, 45, of Butler was charged with disorderly conduct stemming from an alleged case of road rage with a 17-year-old boy Sept. 11. Police said the altercation apparently started in Route 8 in Allegheny County.

Wheeler is accused of following the youth about 3:20 p.m. to his home on Kendall Avenue, where he yelled at the boy.

7:22 p.m. Sunday — Michael Gary Watt, 41, who is homeless, was arrested after he was caught intoxicated and with drug contraband on New Castle Street.

Police said they found Watt after a 911 caller reported seeing a man staggering on the road near Morgan’s Car Wash. The caller told officers the man was carrying two bags and appeared to be “highly intoxicated,” according to court documents.

The man also was reportedly throwing beer cans at vehicles.

When police eventually found the defendant, he smelled of alcohol and was “extremely belligerent toward officers,” documents said.

He was arrested for public intoxication. A search of his belongings turned up a crack pipe.

District Judge Lewis Stoughton arraigned Watt on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness. He was placed in Butler County Prison on $30,000 bail.

[naviga:h3]Cranberry Twp Police[/naviga:h3]

1:52 a.m. Monday — Carrie Jensen, 38, of Pittsburgh was arrested for drunken driving after she ran a red light at the Interstate 79 off-ramp and Route 228.

Police said Jensen failed field sobriety tests and was taken to UPMC Passavant Cranberry for a blood test. Toxicology results showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.184 percent, according to court documents, or more than double the state’s 0.08 percent legal limit.

She was arraigned on charges of driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and the red light violation. She was placed in Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail following arraignment.

State Police, Butler

Thursday — Police charged a Mercer County man with having marijuana following a Sept. 1 traffic stop in Clearfield Township. Police said Romondo D. Oatis, 22, of Sharon was stopped about 8:50 p.m. for speeding on Route 422.

He was caught on radar going 76 mph in a 55 mph zone, police said, and pulled over just east of McGrady Road.

A search of the car’s trunk subsequently tuned up suspected marijuana in a plastic bags. Oatis is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and speeding.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Mercer[/naviga:h3]

Sept. 13 — Cassidy Ann Rabold, 23, of Mercer was charged with a shoplifting incident last month at the County Market, Pine Grove Square in Pine Township, Mercer County.

Police said Rabold was caught about 4 p.m. Aug. 20 placing merchandise in her purse. A search of the purse, according to a police report, also turned up drug contraband.

She is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and retail theft.

[naviga:h3]State Police, New Castle[/naviga:h3]

3:39 a.m. Sunday — A 17-year-old Slippery Rock boy lost control of his sport utility vehicle and struck a ditch, mailbox, tree and a gas meter at a home along Harlansburg Road in Hickory Township. The teen, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured.

Police did not identify the boy who was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Punxsutawney[/naviga:h3]

Monday — The state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited the White Star Fraternal Society on Shuster Drive in Buffalo Township for several violations of the state liquor law.

The violations include consumption of alcohol off premises, sales to nonmembers, sales without a license and a noisy loudspeaker. The alleged violations occurred July 1 to 3. An administrative law judge will hear the case.
