[naviga:h3]Mars grad Dailey repeats AMCC honor[/naviga:h3]

BRADFORD — Mars graduate and Pitt-Bradford senior women’s soccer goalkeeper Sarah Dailey has been named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Defensive Player of the Week.

Dailey collected 20 saves last week, posted three consecutive shutouts and ranks second in the AMCC with 58 saves on the season.

[naviga:h3]Karns City grad LoPresti gets award[/naviga:h3]

GREENSBURG — Karns City graduate and Seton Hill University junior women’s soccer forward Emily LoPresti has been named PSAC Women’s Soccer Co-Athlete of the Week.

LoPresti scored the game-winning goal in both of the Griffins’ games last week. She has scored six goals this season with five being game-winners.

LoPresti is tied for the PSAC lead in goals and is second with 14 points. She leads all of NCAA Division II in game-winning goals.

[naviga:h3]Pa. Mid-Amateur crowded at top[/naviga:h3]

FOX CHAPEL — Jimmy Ellis of Hickory Heights, Kevin Fajt of Hannastown Golf Club and Nathan Smith of Pinecrest Country Club share the lead at 1-under-par 69 after the first round of the 24th PA. Mid-Amateur Golf Championship.

The event is being played at Fox Chapel Country Club and concludes Tuesday.

Artie Fink Jr, of Sinking Valley, Brian DePaul of Hickory Heights and Adam Hofmann of Oakmont are all one stroke back. Sean Knapp of Oakmont is two strokes behind.

Butler Country Club members Robert Stoops and Jon Pratkanis shot 78 and 79, respectively.
