Butler boys soccer rolls by North Hills, 8-0

Luca Fusca scored a pair of goals Saturday and the Butler boys soccer team rolled to an 8-0 victory over North Hills.

The Golden Tornado (4-1, 3-0) have outscored their section opponents 15-1 thus far. Butler hosts North Allegheny Tuesday night.

Emery Douthett and Nathan Weimer both had a goal and assist Saturday. Tate Mohney had two assists while Alec Livermore, Josh Burlingham, Remy Pardo and Chris Werth had single tallies.

Adam Blose and Jordan Stutz added assists in the victory.

Karns City 3, Keystone 0 — Clay Garing scored two goals for the Gremlins and Dakota King added one. Jake Weckerly made three saves in attaining the shutout.

Mount Pleasant 2, Freeport 0 — The Yellowjackets (5-0-1, 3-0-1) lost a section match at home for the first time since 2015. Freeport goalkeeper Giovanni Pugliese made eight saves in the defeat.

Seneca Valley 2, Shaler 0 — The Raiders improved to 3-1-1 overall, 2-1 in section play. Seneca Valley hosts Pine-Richland on Tuesday.

Girls Soccer

Freeport 9, Derry 0 — The Yellowjackets improved to 6-1 as Sidney Shemanski scored three goals and Kaylee Comperatore added a pair.

Brianna Sutara, Lexi Dell, Sarah Lipniskis and Piper Claypool also scored for Freeport, which faces section rival Springdale Monday. Zoe Fair made two saves in getting the shutout.

Moon 3, Butler 0 — The winning Tigers have allowed only two goals all season. Butler hosts North Hills at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Knoch 13, Armstrong 1 — Lindsey Fanton scored three goals for the Knights (5-1) while Lindsie Galbreath, Natalie Brands and Jenna Stallsmith scored two each. Adding single tallies were Sarah Vasas, Maddie Holben, Melanie McCalip and Josie Ansell.

Knoch hosts Franklin Regional Monday night.

Karns City 8, Keystone 0 — Haley Scherer and Alexis Moore scored two goals each for the Gremlins. Hannah Knoll, Chelsea Dodds, Hunter Dittman and Mackenzie Claypoole added single tallies.

Football

Antonio White scored touchdowns three different ways Saturday as Summit Academy (1-2) rolled past Cornell, 44-6.

White scored on a 66-yard touchdown catch, a 67-yard interception return and a 10-yard run. Bailey Krall, Jaylon Karchum and Te-Shon Trissinger also scored rushing touchdowns for the Knights.

Summit Academy hosts OLSH at 12:30 p.m. this Saturday.
