Body found behind Oneida Valley dam

The Oneida Valley Reservoir in Oakland Township.

OAKLAND TWP — State police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found Sunday morning behind the Oneida Valley dam.

Investigators suspect she was dumped there after suffering an apparent drug overdose.

Police said the woman was from Clarion County but they did not immediately release her name. She was believed to be in her 20s.

A couple walking on the road that runs in back of the dam found the body and notified authorities around 10:30 a.m.

Butler County Coroner William Young pronounced her dead. There was no trauma on the body or other evidence that suggested she died of foul play, investigators said.

There was no identification on or near the body. The woman had what appeared to be needle track marks on her arms

An autopsy was performed Sunday night. Young said a cause of death is pending toxicology results.
