Two injured in Rt. 8 accident

BRADY TWP — A two-vehicle accident resulted in minor injuries around 7 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Route 8 and Duffy Road.

A 16-year-old girl, of Karns City, was driving a white Chevrolet SUV east on Duffy Road. State police said witnesses said she drove past a stop sign and hit a black Honda heading south on Route 8.

The vehicles went into an embankment before stopping.

Police said Robert Voltz, 45, of Butler County was the driver of the Honda, and he was driving at a safe speed and was not injured.

Voltz had a passenger, a 13-year-old boy, who suffered minor injuries and was transported to a hospital.

The 16-year-old also suffered minor injuries and was transported to a hospital. She had one passenger, who was not injured.

The SUV sustained severe front-end damage and air bag deployment, while the Sport sustained damage to its right side and rear window, and also had air bag deployment.

Both vehicles were towed.

Police said the 16-year-old will be cited for not adhering to a stop sign.
