Firefighters respond to Oakland Twp. blaze

Firefighters from Lick Hill, Oakland Township, East Butler, Herman, Petrolia, Chicora, West Sunbury and East Butler EMS responded to a garage fire that apparently totaled a structure on Chicora Road on Wednesday.

OAKLAND TWP. — Flames destroyed a two-story, multi-car garage Wednesday night on Chicora Road in Oakland Township.

The Butler County 911 dispatch center received multiple calls at 8:44 p.m. for the fire at the wood-frame three-door garage. The property is near and across the road from the O'Donnel's Beer Distributor. The structure was fully engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived.

There did not appear to be any vehicles inside the structure. There were no reports of injuries.

Oneida Valley Volunteer Fire Department responded. Firefighters from Lick Hill, East Butler, Herman, Petrolia, Chicora and West Sunbury assisted along with East Butler EMS. Other departments were placed on standby alert.

Firefighters were still on scene after 10 p.m.
