SRU students begin hurricane relief plan

SLIPPERY ROCK — Students at Slippery Rock University are coordinating a hurricane relief campaign that will begin today.

The campaign will run through Sept. 23, and is being coordinated by the Student Nonprofit Alliance, an on-campus organization of students preparing for careers in the nonprofit sector, and the Slippery Rock Student Government Association.

People who donate to the campaign will choose between Catholic Charities, The American Red Cross or The Salvation Army, and donations will be divided between that organization's relief efforts in both Texas and Florida.

Those wishing to participate can make an online donation and find more information at www.srufoundation.org/snahurricane.

The groups will provide information about how much the effort ultimately raised, where the money went and how many individuals and student clubs and organizations participated in the campaign.
