Freeport girls net 4-0 win

Kaylee Comperatore scored all four goals Saturday as the Freeport girls soccer team defeated East Allegheny, 4-0.

Comperatore has scored 10 goals so far this season.

Carlie Giori had three assists for the Yellowjackets (3-1, 2-0) with Abby Bastaja adding one. Jenna Manke had two saves in getting the shutout.

Freeport plays at Valley on Monday.

Knoch 1, Mohawk 0 — Lindie Galbreath scored the lone goal of the game, assisted by Jenna Stallsmith. Knoch hosts Mars Monday.

Slippery Rock received a goal from five different players in a 5-1 victory over Wilmington.

Ryan Sproat, Cabot Fowler, Chase Wolinski, Ryan Davey and Ryan Hinchberger each found the net for the Rockets (2-2).

Brookville 2, Karns City 1 — Dakota King scored to give the Gremlins an early lead. KC would lose on an “own goal” with seven minutes to play.

Butler placed second at the Moon Tournament, losing to the hosts 25-21 in the championship match.

The Golden Tornado defeated Ellwood City 25-13, 25-9, Chartiers-Houston 25-15, 25-16 and Ambridge 25-15, 25-21 in pool play. Butler defeated Neshannock 25-19 in the semifinals.

Julia Gibson had 18 kills, three blocks and four aces on the day while Maria Lucas had 17 kills, 17 digs and 15 aces, Tabitha Walker 13 kills, 26 digs and four aces.

Butler (2-0) hosts North Hills Tuesday to begin section play.
