Attic fire causes minor damage

CENTER TWP — Firefighters put out a small attic fire Tuesday afternoon that was possibly caused by a lightning strike.

Unionville Fire Chief Nathan Wulff said the fire in one of the Brookstone Condominium buildings was put out with a water can around 2:30 p.m. No one was hurt.

Wulff said people in the area reported hearing a loud clap, possibly made by thunder, before the fire.

The building has minor smoke and water damage, but Wulff said the residents would likely be able to return to their homes.

Unionville was assisted by the Butler Township, Oneida Valley and Mercer Road fire departments.
