Colby Beers, 12, of Meridian tosses items pulled from the Connoquenessing Creek into a dumpster Saturday. Volunteers of all ages Saturday pulled various items — including hundreds of tires — from an 18-mile stretch of the Connoquenessing Creek between Harmony Junction in Jackson Township and Ellwood City. This year marked the sixth annual creek cleanup organized by the Allegheny Aquatic Alliance. Another cleanup is planned for Sept. 9.
