Poster contest planned

BUTLER TWP — Butler Township is holding its annual Fire Prevention Week poster contest, and students in kindergarten through sixth grade may submit their entries.

The deadline for entries is Sept. 29. Entries should be dropped off at the Butler Township Administration Building, 290 S. Duffy Road.

This year’s theme is “Every Second Counts — Find 2 Ways Out!”

Contest entries should be on a 22-inch by 28-inch white poster board.

On the back of each poster, entries should list parents’ names and contact information and the student’s name, grade, school and room number.

The posters will be on display at the township building during the month of October, and winners will be announced at the township commissioners meeting Oct. 16.

Anyone with questions should contact Larry Christy, township fire marshal, or Marcie Love, township office assistant, at 724-283-3430, Ext. 212.
