FIRST BAPTIS

First Baptist Christian School, a ministry of First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., has a back-to-school night today at 6 p.m., for all parents, students and teachers beginning with food and fellowship and concluding with a 7 p.m. meeting.

The first day of First Baptist Christian School begins at 8 a.m. Wednesday.

The youth group begins fall meetings at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

The first meeting of the weekly Kids Klub for ages 4 through fourth grade is at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., has its church picnic at noon Sunday in the Dogwood Shelter at Lutherlyn. Take a dish to share. Beverages, meat and place settings will be provided.

The staff meeting is at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

GRACE@CALVARY LUTHERAN

Grace’s Closet, a free clothing bank at Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., is open from 5 to 7 p.m. today.

There is a meeting after worship Sunday about planning youth events for the year. Youths set up for the rummage sale at this time. Lunch is included.

Church members lead worship with the adult day program of LIFE Butler County at 11 a.m. Monday and Tuesday. To participate, arrive at the church by 10:40 a.m.

The Treasure Hunters’ rummage and bake sale is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 24 and 25 and from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 26. All proceeds benefit the church’s Campership Fund.

GRACEWAY

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

Beth Ackelson and Ruth Ferko will provide the music during the Sunday worship service.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Interim pastor, the Rev. James Steiner, leads the Sunday worship of Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second Street. Music is by the children’s handbell trio.

Memorial handbell adult choir practices at 1:30 p.m. Wednesdays.

INTERSECTION COMMUNITY CHURCH

Intersection Community Church, 120 Walker Ave., has a wakening event/children’s carnival at 4 p.m. Sunday. It includes games, food, a bounce house, super heroes and other children’s activities. There is a community meal at 5 p.m. The guest speaker is Mike Gestrich and there is a “G” rated movie for children at 7 p.m.

NEW ZION

New Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, 1195 Airport Road, Emlenton, hosts a parking lot picnic at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Hot dogs are provided and each family should take a dish to share. A game of “How Much Do You Know?” for all ages is included. For more information, call 724-867-0165.

RIDER LUTHERAN CHURCH

Rider Lutheran Church, 189 Rider Church Road, West Sunbury, has Communion at the Sunday worship service.

SAINT ANDREWS

Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., will have its summer golf outing Saturday at Krendale Golf Course, 131 N. Eberhart Road. Tee time is set for 11:10 a.m. For more information, see Chuck King.

ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN

St. John’s Lutheran Church of Connoquenessing, 100 Main St., Connoquenessing, celebrates Holy Communion during the Sunday worship service.

The August cause of the month is the Butler Area Relief Appeal.

The church council meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The congregation invites people to welcome the Vietnam Traveling Wall to Butler Wednesday. Assemble in front of the church at 6 p.m. for the procession as it proceeds past the church on Route 68.

Take an American flag to wave and a chair.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, has Out to Lunch at Belmont II, 1805 N. Main St. Ext. after the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service.

Praying with a purpose for the opioid addiction problem in Butler is at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

ZION LUTHERAN

Zion Lutheran Church, 266 Zion Church Road, Chicora, celebrates Holy Communion at its Sunday worship.
