Entertainer Ben Vereen will kick off the Celebrity Series at Westminster College with a show at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 16.
College series pays tribute to Elvis, McCartney

NEW WILMINGTON — The Celebrity Series at Westminster College has announced its 2017-18 schedule, including homages to Paul McCartney and Elvis Presley. The 50th anniversary season will showcase six shows.

“Steppin' Out with Ben Vereen,” 7:30 p.m. Sept. 16, an evening of song and dance and stories of his life.

“An Evening with Chris Botti,” 7:30 p.m. Oct. 21, this Grammy Award-winning trumpeter has recorded and performed alongside Sting, Barbra Streisand and Frank Sinatra, becoming the nation's largest selling instrumental artist.

Brandon Bennett of the musical “Million Dollar Quartet,” 7:30 p.m. Nov. 18, with the Presley tribute, “Elvis My Way.”

Ten Tenors with “Home for the Holidays,” 7:30 p.m. Dec. 11, a selection of traditional and contemporary favorites.

“The McCartney Years,” 7:30 p.m. April 28, 2018, featuring the music of McCartney from The Beatles to Wings.

Celebrity Series for Kids presents “How I Became a Pirate,” 6:30 p.m. May 14, 2018, a musical adaptation of Melinda Long's best-selling book.
