In reply to Dane Winkler (“We Have A Constitution,” Aug. 7) who writes that my idea of the death penalty for deadly heroin is “absurd.”
That’s rich. The writer is taking the side of heroin dealers. Those poor heroin dealers, they just can’t catch a break. We should really be showing more “tolerance” (the writer’s word) toward these fine citizens.
Do you know what I and many others find absurd? The staggering number of people who have died because of this deadly drug, and no real progress made to stop it. Drastic times call for drastic measures.
This isn’t the Philippines. As for the Constitution, I’m well aware of our country’s founding document. However, those who choose to deal drugs like heroin don’t deserve Constitutional rights. We need to make an example of these murderers.
