Petrolia girl has been missing for a week

Megan Fichter

PETROLIA — “Please help us find our daughter and bring her home,” Julie Fichter said in a statement Monday night.

Fichter's daughter, Megan, has been missing since Aug. 8, when she was last seen getting into a dark-colored Chevrolet four-door sedan outside Boltz's Market, according to state police.

“The pain is unbearable,” Julie Fichter said. “It's the not knowing that's the hardest.”

Megan attended Karns City High School, but she quit school in March, according to Julie Fichter. She said her daughter had few friends, but had a good personality.

“She is so loving and kind,” she said. “She would do anything for anybody.”

Megan is described as being five feet tall, 120 pounds with brown eyes and short brown hair that has been shaved on both sides.

Family members could not figure out what Megan may have taken with her, but they did notice that the teen's navy blue and white backpack was missing from their home, according to the mother.

The family is asking that anyone with information to step forward, or to have Megan call them to tell them she's alive and healthy.

A full report will appear in the Butler Eagle.
