Monday — Police charged Jonathan L. Smith, 42, of Butler with drugged driving in connection with a traffic stop last month in Brady Township. Police said they pulled over Smith for having an expired registration.

The defendant, who also didn’t have a valid license, appeared to be impaired, according to court documents. He was arrested after failing a field sobriety test.

Smith eventually was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, which showed he had amphetamine in his system, documents said.

In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, he is charged with driving an unregistered vehicle, driving with a suspended license and driving a vehicle without valid inspection.
