Police said they found Stevenson and Zachary S. Rush, 21, of Harrisville about 4:30 a.m. July 23 after being called to the home for a possible burglary, according to court documents.

Stevenson and Rush had a “strong odor” of alcohol coming from them. Police said Stevenson “kept confronting officers with his aggressive physical movements,” documents said.

He is charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

Police said Lane was a passenger in the car that was stopped about 10:30 a.m. July 4 for having an expired registration.

An inventory search of the vehicle turned up a coin purse that was under Lane’s seat. The purse contained 14 empty bags of suspected heroin, a syringe and a Chore Boy copper scrubber, according to court documents. The defendant admitted the items were hers. While she was being searched, documents said, a second syringe fell to the ground.

Monday — Police charged Charles D. Brown II, 26, of Hermitage, Mercer County, with removing and taking a wheel boot lock device last month from his car at the Slippery Rock Apartments in Slippery Rock.

Slippery Rock Towing and Repair owns the boot, which had been placed on Brown’s Cadillac because it was illegally parked at the apartment complex July 22, court documents said.

A company employee notified police after he returned to the complex and found the defendant’s car gone. He also found “a small piece of the pin broken off the boot used to hold the boot together,” documents said.

Police said they later tried to speak to Brown but he refused to meet with investigators. He is charged with misdemeanor counts of theft and criminal mischief.

July 31 — Ilene Kerins, 68, of Butler was charged with being more than twice the state’s legal limit for alcohol in June when she crashed a utility task vehicle in Jefferson Township.

Police were called June 19 for a report of a woman pinned underneath an orange Kubota UTV on the 400 block of Dinnerbell Road. Emergency crews got the vehicle off Kerins, who smelled of alcohol, and took her to an awaiting ambulance, according to court documents.

“Kerins related she had been drinking alcoholic beverages that evening,” a police affidavit said, “before driving the UTV from her farm.”

She told police that she had gotten into an argument with her husband and took off on the vehicle. She could not explain how she wrecked.

The defendant was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, which showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.169 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.

Troopers got to the sport utility vehicle and smelled air fresheners that were hanging from the rearview mirror, and along the ceiling of the back seat, according to court documents. Police suspected Goodwine was impaired.

He was arrested after failing field sobriety tests and a drug recognition expert’s evaluation. A search of the SUV also turned up three pain pills for which he allegedly did not have a prescription.

Results of a blood test subsequently showed Goodwine had marijuana in his system.
