Delaney about 7:55 p.m. July 5 got into an altercation with Chris Losser Jr. during which he allegedly struck Losser’s Jeep with a ball bat “numerous times,” according to court documents. Damage totaled about $2,200.

The defendant admitted to “grabbing a baseball bat for safety once he heard the altercation going on outside,” a police affidavit said. He acknowledged hitting Losser’s vehicle as it drove past his home twice.

2:55 a.m. Sunday — Scott W. Braden, 35, of Meadville, Crawford County, was arrested after he ran from police investigating a one-vehicle wreck in Franklin Township. He was tackled moments later.

Police were called for the crash and found a sport utility vehicle into a ditch on Fairway Drive. The driver was not there. The vehicle identification number turned up Braden’s name.

The defendant, it turned out, also was wanted for arrest warrants in Allegheny County, according to court documents.

While the vehicle was being towed, a man, later identified as Braden, approached police. He gave police a bogus name.

Troopers said when they advised Braden he was being detained, documents said, he tried to break free but was restrained and handcuffed. He was placed against the patrol car.

But he eventually took off running and had to be tackled, documents said. He had a “strong odor” of alcohol on his breath and appeared intoxicated, a police affidavit said. He denied driving the SUV.

By 2:10 a.m., police were at the defendant’s home where they found the damaged pickup, according to court documents. Vinroe initially denied being in an accident but subsequently admitted hitting the other vehicle.

Troopers said the defendant smelled of alcohol but he denied having anything to drink since arriving home.

Vinroe was taken to the barracks and given a breath test, which showed his blood-alcohol was 0.088 percent, documents said. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.
