Jennings Environmental Education Center, Route 528, Brady Township, will host the Celebrate the Bloom! Summer Festival from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and free prairie walks at 2 p.m. Sunday and Aug. 6. Jennings is open regularly 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and on weekends as scheduled. The free Outdoor Discovery series at Alameda Park, conducted by the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department, will present “Let There Be Slime Animals” tonight and “Animal Architecture” on Aug. 3. Programs are at 6:30 p.m. in the Carousel Shelter. Call 724-284-5383.

Star parties sponsored by the Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh are to begin, weather permitting, at about 8:40 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Wagman Observatory in Deer Lakes Regional Park near Russellton. Call 724-224-2510.
