4 share West Penn lead

PENN TWP — Much needs to be decided when golfers convene for the third and final round of the 113th West Penn Open Championship at Butler Country Club today.

Beau Titsworth, Daniel Obremski, Easton Renwick and Mike Van Sickle each hold a share of the lead at minus-3 (137).

After shooting an even-par 70 in the first round, Renwick and Van Sickle both carded a minus-3 67 Tuesday.

Renwick battled back from a pair of bogies to score three birdies and an eagle on the 527-yard, par-5 No. 12 hole.

Van Sickle’s second round featured four birdies and a bogey.

Butler High School graduate and Valencia resident Jon Pratkanis sits alone in fifth place at minus-2, one shot back of the leaders.

Corey Long, who led the pack at minus-3 entering Tuesday’s play, fired a two-over-par 72 and is tied for sixth place with Reid Howey.

Two of Long’s bogies Tuesday came on holes (3 and 9) that he birdied in the first round.
