Homicide defendant held for court on lesser charges

Joshua K. Greaves

A man already facing trial in connection with the homicide of a Kittanning man was ordered held for court Monday on charges he lied to Butler police after officers found him in the victim's car in March.

Joshua K. Greaves, 34, of Mercer, who also had suspected heroin on him that night, was arrested on bench warrants.

It would be two days later before police learned the car — a 1991 Dodge Dynasty — belonged to Gregory Bosko, 55, who had been reported missing to Kittanning police on March 20.

Bosko's body was subsequently found on April 1 in a wooded area in Concord Township. An autopsy determined his throat had been cut.

Greaves and co-defendant Tiffany N. Hilliard, 30, of Butler are both charged in Bosko's death and are being held in the Butler County Prison.

Greaves' preliminary hearing Monday was for lesser charges stemming from a call shortly after 8 p.m. March 24 about a suspicious car on West Wayne Street with the occupants possibly using drugs.

District Judge William Fullerton ordered Greaves to be held for trial on misdemeanor charges of false identification to police and possession of a controlled substance.

Hilliard previously waived her right to a preliminary hearing on a charge of false identification to police.
