Thursday — Andrew D. Haight was charged with drugged driving stemming from a crash last month in the 300 block of West Brady Street.

Police said the defendant suffered an apparent drug overdose about 4:35 a.m. June 16 when his sport utility vehicle struck a parked van, which pushed the van into a utility pole.

Paramedics were treating Haight with Narcan when officers got there, according to court documents. Police said they looked into the suspect’s vehicle and saw five empty stamp bags of suspected heroin “in plain view.”

The defendant admitted that he was coming from a home at Mercer and Brady streets after using one bag of heroin, documents said. He was arrested and taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test.

Toxicology results subsequently showed he had marijuana and fentanyl in his system, documents said.

Haight is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and reckless driving.

Wednesday — Amanda L. Cypher, 32, of Butler Township allegedly stole another woman’s vehicle in the 300 block of Walker Avenue.

The owner, Laura McCrea, told police that she was taking a nap about 2 a.m. when Cypher allegedly took her keys and drove away in her 2010 Chevrolet Malibu, according to court documents.

McCrea told police that when she called Cypher on her cell phone, the defendant admitted she had the car. The victim said Cypher did not return the vehicle and the owner did not hear from the suspect the rest of the night.

Police obtained an arrest warrant for Cypher on a felony charge of theft.

Wednesday — Kristi L. Bowser, 43, of Center Township was charged with having drugs and other contraband in connection with a trespassing call July 1 at the Lafayette Apartments on South Main Street.

Police found Bowser in the building and while officers were escorting her out they noticed she appeared to be hiding something in her left hand, according to court documents. Officers grabbed her arm and forced open her hand, finding a baggie of suspected crack cocaine.

She also turned over a crack pipe that was hidden in her bra, police said.

Bowser is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Friday — Police charged a Beaver County man for having unlawful possession of prescription medication stemming from a disturbance call earlier this month in the 400 block of East Water Street.

Police said they found the suspect, Americo J. Barilaro, 21, of Aliquippa, and four others at a noisy apartment. The tenant, Tyler J. Juba, 20, of Beaver Falls. Beaver County, told police that he and Barilaro had gotten into an argument that turned physical, according to court documents.

Barilaro, who appeared to be “highly intoxicated,” had scrapes on his hands and red marks on his face. He was taken to Grove City Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

A search of a back pack that Barilaro was wearing turned up a pills bottle containing 1½ Adderall pills, a stimulant used to treat attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder for which the defendant did not have a prescription.

Barilaro is charged with possession of a controlled substance. Police also cited Juba for keeping a disorderly house.
