Fire marshal continues probe of campland blaze

BRADY TWP — The state police fire marshal continues to investigate an early morning blaze Monday that damaged or destroyed nine campers at Moraine Camplands.

The cause of the fire, which resulted in an estimated $100,000 in damage, has not been determined, police said.

No one was injured.

The blaze started about 2:20 a.m. at the 146-acre campground on Staff Road in Brady Township. Chief Nathan Wulff of Unionville Volunteer Fire Department said the fire apparently began in one camper and quickly spread to others nearby.

He said three campers were destroyed, one sustained heavy damage, one had moderate damage and the others had minor damage.
