Man injured in crash in Petrolia

The aftermath of a one-vehicle accident Saturday morning in Petrolia.

PETROLIA - A one-vehicle accident resulted in an injury around 11 a.m. Saturday on Kittanning Pike.

A man, whose name was not immediately available, was driving a vehicle northbound around a curve when the vehicle flipped over. The man was trapped inside and citizens and firefighters lifted the vehicle off him.

The man was taken by ambulance to a Pittsburgh hospital. He was not flown because of the rain.

The car sustained severe damage, was broken apart and was towed.

A stretch of Kittanning Pike was blocked off for almost four hours following the accident.

Volunteer fire departments from Petrolia, Chicora and Bruin responded to the accident. State police were also at the scene.
