Police to release more details on killer's discovery

Webb

SAXONBURG — State police say they will release more details in the case of Donald E. Webb at a news conference tomorrow morning in Saxonburg.

Webb, whose remains were found last week near his wife’s home in North Dartmouth, Mass., had been wanted by state and federal authorities for decades, after police say he pistol whipped and then fatally shot Saxonburg Police Chief Greg Adams during a traffic stop on Dec. 4, 1980.

After identifying Webb’s remains using dental records, FBI officials said earlier this week that they believe Webb had died about 18 years ago, in 1999.

State police say the news conference will be at 9 a.m. Thursday, at the borough’s council office on West Main Street.
