2 men accused of sending nude pictures of women

Ex-girlfriends notify police

Butler police have accused two men of sending nude photographs of their former girlfriends to other people.

Joel L. McKissick Jr., 28, of Oakland Township and Ryan M. Karges, 34, of Mc-Keesport are both charged in the unrelated cases with unlawful dissemination of an intimate image. Police filed the misdemeanor cases Friday.

McKissick's ex-girlfriend on June 3 notified police after learning that he had sent nude photos of her via text message and Facebook to someone else, according to court documents.

The woman admitted that the photos had been taken while she and Mc-Kissick were dating, police said. However, she did not give him permission to share the photos.

Police said they examined the text message that “did show McKissick sending nude photographs of (the woman) to another person,” documents said.

Karges' former girlfriend showed up at the police station March 29 to report that he had sent naked photos and videos of her to her current boyfriend, investigators said.

The woman said she had not given the defendant consent to send the explicit images to her boyfriend.

She provided police “with hard copies of the conversation in which Karges was texting (her boyfriend),” court documents said, “as well as screen shots of the lewd pictures.”

Preliminary hearings for both defendants are set for Aug. 7 at the office of District Judge William Fullerton in Butler.
