The July 10th editorial “Denial, distance don’t slow political misbehavior creep” was such an odd piece that I didn’t quite know what to make of it at first.

From its opening Zappa lyric to the subtly irresponsible way that our Mondays with Mike gatherings were equated with the vandalism that occurred at Rep. Tim Murphy’s office in Mount Lebanon, I really wasn’t sure where we were headed. Until the “ yet” at the end. Pow!

“Good citizens of Butler, take notice ... we don’t know what ‘those’ people are capable of ... they’re ‘just’ like those other groups ... “

Well, sorry to disappoint, but we are a barely-organized handful of concerned citizens trying to make our various concerns known to a largely — nah, completely absent — congressman in an extremely volatile time for our country.
