Wednesday — Kaitlyn Duffy, 21, of Butler was charged with drugged driving stemming from a one-car wreck last month at East Jefferson and Third streets.

Police said they were called shortly after 4:30 a.m. May 30 after Duffy crashed her car over a hillside and into a tree. The inside of the vehicle reeked of marijuana, according to court documents.

In the car, police said, officers found suspected marijuana and a marijuana pipe, Police assisted the defendant to an ambulance, which took her to Butler Memorial Hospital.

Results of a blood test subsequently showed she had marijuana in her system, documents said.

Duffy is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, and possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

3:10 p.m. June 16 — Daniel N. Mukaabya, 30, of Oakland Township crashed his bicycle into a car at North Monroe and South Chestnut streets.

Two witnesses reported seeing the bike travel downhill fast and fail to stop at the intersection, according to a police report.

The driver, Alexander L. McCandless, 22, of Beaver Falls, Beaver County, told police that he had just stopped at the stop sign when the bike hit his vehicle. No injuries were reported.

8:23 a.m. June 15 — A car driven by Nathan C. Shook, 25, of Connoquenessing Township rear-ended a sport utility vehicle on the 300 block of North Main Street. The collision happened when Kathleen E. Bray, 66, of Harrisville abruptly stopped her SUV.

No injuries were reported but the car, which sustained severe front-end damage, had to be towed.

[naviga:h3]Adams Twp Police[/naviga:h3]

June 17 — Amanda M. Lollo, 25, of Adams Township was arrested on charges she forged two stolen checks belonging to her mother. She allegedly deposited the checks into another bank account earlier this month.

Additionally, according to court documents, Lollo on June 9 tried to use two of her mother’s credit cards at the Walmart on Route 19 in Cranberry Township. The transactions, however, were denied.

Copies of the suspected forged checks and store surveillance video is part the evidence against the defendant, police said.

Police said Lollo, who lives with her mother, during a June 17 interview told investigators she had no memory or knowledge of trying to use the credit cards or depositing the checks.

She was arraigned on two felony charges of forgery. Additionally, she is facing misdemeanor charges of theft, receiving stolen property and several counts of access device fraud. She is free on $5,000 unsecured bail.

7:52 p.m. June 17 — Richard Zambotti, 55, of Kittanning was caught allegedly shoplifting $237.85 in merchandise at the Butler Commons’ Walmart. He is charged with retail theft.

State Park Rangers

Tuesday — Austin L. Orr, 32, of Harmony was charged with drunken driving stemming from an incident last month at Moraine State Park in Muddy Creek Township.

A ranger for the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources about 9:15 p.m. May 26 spotted Orr in a pickup truck backing down the McDaniels Boat Launch on the park’s North Shore.

The defendant, who said he was on a fishing trip, reeked of alcohol, according to court documents. He also showed signs of being intoxicated.

In the pickup, the ranger noticed two open bottles of ale in the cup holders behind the center console. Another open bottle of ale was next to the driver’s seat in the boat.

Orr was subsequently arrested after failing field sobriety tests, documents said. He was searched and found with suspected marijuana.

Orr allegedly admitted that he had two beers and smoked marijuana while at the park.

He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, which showed his blood-alcohol was 0.120 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.

In addition to driving under the influence, Orr is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and violating rules of conduct on state property.

[naviga:h3]State Police Butler[/naviga:h3]

Thursday — Aaron M. Cunningham, 22, of Butler was charged with having marijuana following a traffic stop about 12:25 a.m. May 27 on the 100 block of New Castle Road in Butler Township.

Cunningham is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana.

June 16 — Luke D. Kramer, 25, of Slippery Rock was charged with drunken and drugged driving in connection with a traffic incident last month in Slippery Rock Township.

Police said they were called about 2 a.m. May 12 to investigate a report of a sport utility vehicle left on the side of Miller Road. No one was around the vehicle, which appeared to have gotten stuck in a roadside ditch, when troopers got there.

On the back seat was a half empty case of beer with empty cans strewn about the vehicle. The troopers eventually found Kramer, who admitted driving the SUV. Police said he had a “strong odor” of alcohol.

He was arrested after failing field sobriety tests. A search turned up a marijuana pipe in one of his pockets, according to court documents.

Police took Kramer for a blood test and a toxicology report showed he had a blood-alcohol level of 0.126 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law. He also had marijuana in his system.

Kramer is charged with driving under the influence of both alcohol and a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with an open container of alcohol and careless driving.
