[naviga:h3]Butler slates Light Up Night Saturday[/naviga:h3]

The City of Butler will hold “Light Up Night” Saturday to promote public safety.

Councilman and director of public safety Kathy Kline said city residents are encouraged to turn on porch lights and other outdoor lights Saturday night.

“It will help all our first responders,” Kline said of the light.

Light Up Night will be held each month on the Saturday after city council meetings, which are held the third week of each month.

[naviga:h3]City real estate taxes due June 30[/naviga:h3]

City real estate taxes are due by 4 p.m. June 30.

Money should be sent by check and can be mailed to Butler City Building, 140 W. North St., Butler, Pa. 16001-5298. Mailed checks must be received by the deadline.

Residents also can drop off checks at the city building. Those who miss the deadline will be required to pay an additional 10 percent of their initial real estate tax amount.
