New priest offers 1st Mass

Gramc celebrates at St. Ferdinand

CRANBERRY TWP — Newly ordained priest the Rev. Thomas J. Gramc will celebrate his first Mass at noon Sunday at St. Ferdinand Roman Catholic Church, 2535 Rochester Road.

The son of Thomas W. and Kathleen Gramc of Cranberry Township, he has two sisters, Stephanie Cannon and Kristina Lampasi.

He attended St. Sebastian Catholic Elementary School and went on to graduate from Central Catholic High School.

After graduation, Gramc attended the University of Dayton in Ohio, earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2011.

In August 2011, Gramc entered the postulancy of the Brothers of the Christian Schools and attended LaSalle University in Philadelphia.

He was accepted into the priestly formation program to begin pre-theology studies at St. Paul Seminary and Duquesne University in January 2012 and completed studies in 2013.

Gramc was assigned for theological studies at Pontifical North American College, Rome, Italy, in 2013 and completed his fourth year of studies.

In 2014, Gramc was assigned to St. Paul Cathedral and St. Regis Parish, both in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood, for a summer pastoral experience. In summer 2015 and 2016, he returned to St. Paul Cathedral.

He was ordained to the Order of Deacon on Sept. 29, 2016, in St. Peter’s Basilica, Rome.

Bishop David A. Zubik, Diocese of Pittsburgh, ordained Gramc and four other men during a Mass of Ordination June 24 at St. Paul Cathedral in Oakland.
