Saturday — A homeless man was arrested on charges he broke into a Franklin Township trailer home in January.

Jonathan J. Dillingham, 24, was arraigned on a felony charge of trespass and a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $30,000 bail following arraignment.

Police on Feb. 17 obtained arrest warrants for Dillingham and his girlfriend, Alicia R. Peters, 25, of Butler, in connection with the Jan. 26 break-in.

The couple is accused of forcing their way into the house on West Old Route 422. The suspects apparently knew the victim who lives at the home, according to documents, and they stayed there Jan. 26 until he provided them a ride to Butler.

The owner of the house, the next morning, turned over a backpack that Peters had left there, according to court documents. A search of the backpack contained 33.6 grams of marijuana that was inside a Mason jar.

Court records show that Peters has not been arrested and is still charged with trespass, criminal mischief, felony drug possession and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

June 6 — Kari Lee Summerville, 37, of Butler was charged with having marijuana in connection with a traffic stop nearly two years ago.

Police said they stopped Summerville on Sept. 1, 2015, for having a burned out headlight on Route 8 south near the John Deere dealership. When troopers got to her sport utility vehicle, they smelled marijuana.

Summerville subsequently turned over to police a baggie of marijuana that was hidden in her bra, according to court documents. No other contraband was found in the vehicle.

She is charged with misdemeanor possession of a small amount of marijuana and the lighting violation.

Documents did not indicate why it took so long for police to file charges in the case.
