My Husband and I thank all the people involved in the 2017 Kids Day America event that was held May 13 at the Butler Farm Show Grounds. This was the first time that we attended this free community event with our grandson.

It was very evident that much planning and organizing went into this affair. Our grandson was in awe of the costumed Chase character from Paw Patrol and he loved holding the firemen’s hose and shooting water into the pond. He enjoyed the petting zoo and the inflatable slides.

This was definitely a fun-filled day for all the children in attendance. The Chinese auction baskets were wonderful and their proceeds benefitted the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

We cannot say enough good things about this community event and wish to thank Dr. Stuart Surkosky, his wife, Dawn, and their staff for organizing and sponsoring this experience.

And a big thank-you to all the businesses and organizations that volunteered their services. Good job, well done. Next year we hope to see even more of the community there.
