The Seneca Valley boys volleyball team's hopes of a WPIAL title were dashed with a 3-1 Class AAA semifinal loss to North Allegheny Monday night at Baldwin High School.

Matt Gagnon had 19 kills and Will Hayes 41 assists for the Raiders, who fell by scores of 21-25, 16-25, 25-23 and 23-25.

In Wednesday's consolation game at Baldwin, SV (13-5) will face Bethel Park at 6 p.m. to determine the third WPIAL team to earn a berth into the state playoffs.

Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic's season came to an end with a 3-2 loss to Serra Catholic in a WPIAL Class 2A quarterfinal playoff at Gateway High School.
