Butler's Patten hits for cycle

NEWARK, Del. — Butler resident Nick Patten went 5-for-5, hit for the cycle and drove in seven runs Thursday in the University of Delaware’s 17-4 win over the College of Charleston.

The Blue Hens’ sophomore first baseman, Patten hit for the cycle and collected seven RBI in the game. He is the first Delaware player to hit for the cycle in seven years and just the fourth to do it in the program’s history.

Patten is hitting .301 with 13 homers and 43 RBI on the season.
