BMH doctor receives community award

John Reefer

One of Butler Memorial Hospital’s chief administrators has been named the winner of the Jean B. Purvis Community Cornerstone Award.

Dr. John Reefer, the chief medical officer and vice president of professional affairs at BMH, will be honored June 16 at a dinner at Butler Country Club.

Reefer, who has previously been named “Top Doctor” by Pittsburgh Magazine several times, is also a member of the board of directors at the Community Health Clinic of Butler County, and serves as a volunteer physician at the clinic.

He is also on the board of directors of Life Butler, Butler Cancer Associates, Good Samaritan Hospice, and Concordia Visiting Nurses.

The Cornerstone Award was established by the clinic to honor those who make significant contributions in the delivery of health care services to Butler County residents.

Those interested in attending the dinner in Reefer’s honor should contact Jim Cunningham at 724-841-0980, Ext. 101, or jcunningham@butlerhealthclinic.org. There is a cost associated with the event.
