The recent $5 theft proposed by county commissioners has angered many residents myself included. If the “fee” is put into effect the county “could” receive $2 milion in incentives from the state. I like that our elected officials are basing a tax on its residents on the possibility that it might receive this $2 million it’s entitled to. So we the people get taxed even more to maybe, possibly at some point receive extra money from the state. That’s really ensuring trust that the government will come through and give that incentive. I for one don’t buy it for one second. Property taxes have been raised twice since 2012 and that was promised to solve the problems, but they seem to keep mounting with no end in sight. This $5 won’t be the end, only the beginning of the end.
