Moniteau boys unbeaten in track

Steven Fawcett won the 1,600- and 800-meter runs and contributed to a pair of relay wins as Moniteau’s boys track and field team clinched an undefeated season with an 88-62 win over Redbank Valley in New Bethlehem Tuesday afternoon.

Dalton Anderson (javelin and high jump) also won two individual events for the Warriors (10-0).

Cambrie Campbell captured all three throwing events for Moniteau’s girls, but the Bulldogs prevailed 76-74.

Ellie Thompson took first place in the 200 dash and the long jump to aid A-C Valley’s girls in a 101-48 victory over Keystone.

The Falcon boys dropped a 106-33 decision to the Panthers.

Union’s Dana Logue was the overall winner in the shot put and discus and Trey Miles took the high jump at 5-8, but the Golden Knights fell to Clarion (104-44) and DuBois Central Catholic (84-65).

In the girls’ meet, Union received an overall victory from Frankee Remmick in the javelin in losses to the Bobcats (123-19) and Cardinals (101-34).

Kaiden Powers won both hurdle events, but Karns City’s boys bowed to North Clarion on a second-place tiebreaker.

Gunner Becker singled twice and had three RBI and Danny Williams singled twice with two runs driven in as Slippery Rock knocked off host Grove City 6-4.

Ricky Mineo struck out five and walked one in six innings pitched to earn the win.
