Wil’s Prayer

Dear family,

There are so many wishes that I send to you this day

I hope you feel me near you and to the Lord I pray.

Be with my dad and hold his hand, and keep him in the light

Peace and joy are what I send as day breaks o’er the night.

My sister’s heart has welcomed in, two children from afar,

With love and patience every day, I’ll be her wishing star.

Her husband is a blessing and it’s true for all to see,

It is his love and quiet strength that guards her family

A guardian angel with pennies galore, I watch with love and grace,

Keep safe my niece and nephew in the world, a mighty place.

My brother, how I miss you and hope that in your heart

You feel the deepest faith and peace that only God imparts

For my brother’s sweetheart, my blessings sent to you

Keep being his faithful touchstone, warm and gentle and true.

Finally for my mom, as memories swirl, I know she cries today

Remember I am with you still, there by your side, in your heart I stay

So dearest Lord, grant my heartfelt wish and listen as I pray,

Bless my family, one and all, as they hold me dear this day.

Love, Mom and Dad, Laurie, John, Andrew and Amelia, Dave and Melodie
