BUTLER TWP — The Butler School Board at its meeting Monday night voted to:
Raise its parking permit fee for students from $75 to $100 per year. The money from the fees is used for paving and parking lot maintenance, assistant superintendent Brian Slamecka said.
Raise its athletic participation fee for students from $60 to $75 per year, with a cap of $300 per family. The fee is paid once per year for each student who participates in a sport.
The increase will bring in an additional $13,000 per semester, board member David Korn said.
Board members Leland Clark and Jennifer Cummings voted against the increase.
Discussion about implementing a similar fee for other types of extra-curricular activities is scheduled for the next education committee meeting on May 8.
The board also voted to raise some of its athletic event ticket prices by $1, which will generate an additional $4,500 in revenue, Korn said.
Award a bid to BSN Sports, Passon’s Sports and US Games Buy for new football uniforms at a cost of $27,360. The district will get 180 jerseys, and 180 pairs of pants.
They are paid for with money from ticket sales.
