1:54 p.m. Saturday — Gilbert J. Brumfield, 21, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, Tanarra Graham, during a domestic dispute at his apartment in the 200 block of Zeigler Avenue.

A 911 hang-up call sent officers to the home where they heard a disturbance going on and found Graham “upset and crying,” according to court documents. A neighbor told police that she saw the defendant hit the alleged victim several times.

Brumfield admitted that he and Graham got into an argument when he told her to leave his home. He is accused of pushing his girlfriend against the wall, punching her in the head and grabbing her body. Police said during the assault, Graham was holding her 2-year-old child.

Brumfield was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.

2 p.m. Wednesday — Shawn P. Leonard, 33, of Pittsburgh was found with an illegal prescription medication after a state constable arrested him on a warrant in the Clay Hills area.

A search of Leonard, court documents said, turned up six pills of the anti-anxiety medication clonazepam, for which he did not have a prescription.

He was placed in the Butler County Prison on the warrant and later arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

April 10 — Police charged an Allegheny County woman with drugged driving stemming from a one-vehicle crash in February that left her car partially submerged in water in a large ditch along Old Route 8 south near Route 8.

Carrie E. Wilson, 23, of Allison Park was still in the driver’s seat when police got there about 8:40 p.m. Feb. 28. Another woman, a passenger, was also inside. Two other passengers, both women, were already out of the vehicle when police arrived.

When Wilson eventually climbed out of the car, police noticed a case of beer on the rear floor behind the driver’s seat. She admitted that she had been drinking and she later failed field sobriety tests.

Police arrested Wilson and took her to UPMC Passavant-Cranberry for a blood test. Toxicology reports subsequently showed the presence of marijuana and benzoylecgonine, which is a metabolite of cocaine. She is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
