Youth Sports

The Butler Junior High boys track and field team improved to 7-1 recently with an 86-41 victory over Pine-Richland and a 92.6-32.6 win over Shaler.

Against Pine-Richland, the Golden Tornado received strong performances from Carson Nobel in the long jump and triple jump, Colten Byers in the 100 and 200 meters, Clayton Holt in the 110-meter hurdles and 200 meters.

Against Shaler, Jake Pomykata finished first in the discus, Zach Wrinn ran a leg of the winning 4x100 relay, Charlie Kreinbacher finished second in the high jump and Ryder Kriley was third in the 400 meters.

Baseball

Shawn Marcellus struck out seven in a complete-game effort as Butler’s junior varsity nipped Central Catholic, 3-2, recently.

Grant Metzger had a single and two RBI, Chris Zidek adding an RBI single for the Golden Tornado (4-2, 2-1).
