South Butler schools evacuated; threat unsubstantiated

JEFFERSON TWP — South Butler students in the middle and high schools are returning to classrooms this afternoon after an unsubstantiated threat led to the evacuation of the school buildings.

The administration discovered threats to student safety in the afternoon, and as a precautionary measure, students and staff were evacuated to the stadium while a search of the building was conducted, according to a post on the South Butler County School District's website.

The threats were investigated by school police and the administration and determined to be unsubstantiated and not credible. No suspicious or dangerous items were found during the search, the post stated.

Students and staff were allowed back in the building to resume classes to end the day. All after-school activities will continue as planned.
