BC3's Houk hits 2 slams in 1 inning

Nicole Houk pulled off a rare feat for the Butler County Community College softball team in the second game of a doubleheader sweep of the Community College of Beaver County Monday afternoon.

Houk hit two grand slams in the same inning as the Pioneers cruised to a 19-7 win.

BC3 also won the first game, 17-0.

Houk had a double, single and two runs scored in Game 1.

Butler grad Noel Pfabe drove in five runs over the two games and Karns City grad Taylor Downs homered, doubled, singled and drove in four in Game 1.

Slippery Rock High graduate Alexis Vogan doubled, singled twice, drove in two runs and scored three runs for the Pioneers in Game 1.

Knoch graduate Jessi Reed got wins in both games, twirling a shutout in the first game, striking out six. She worked three innings in the second game for the win.

Karns City grad Saydie Moore and Freeport grad Kristen Karcher also had a pair of RBI in the wins.
