BC3 softball clinches title with big wins

Butler County Community College's softball team clinched the Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference regular season title with lopsided wins over Community College of Allegheny County on Saturday.

In Game 1, the Pioneers used a 7-run second inning to move ahead for good in a 14-3 win.

Kristen Karcher and Noel Pfabe both drove in four runs while Saydie Moore singled, doubled, drove in two and scored two.

Nicole Houk starred in Game 2, a 12-3 victory. She singled three times and scored three runs.

Amanda Webb contributed two base hits, two runs scored and two batted in.

Jessi Reed was the winning pitcher in both games, combining to strike out eight and walk a pair.

BC3 (13-1, 11-1) will host and be the top seed in the WPCC tournament, which begins April 21.
