KC's Craig all-star MVP

KNOX — Karns City senior Mackenzie Craig was named MVP for the Red team in the 17th annual Clarion County YMCA Sportsmanship I District 9 Girls Basketball All-Star Game Saturday at Keystone High School.

Craig scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Red in its 72-63 loss to the White squad. KC teammate Alyssa Gibsin scored 11 points and had three rebounds.

Moniteau’s Alazia Greaves scored a game-high 15 points for the White. Warrior teammate Kristina DeMatteis tallied 10 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

Greaves also won the girls portion of the 32-point shooting contest. The competition consisted of taking five 3-pointers, five pull-up jumpers, five lay-ups and a one-and-one at the free throw line.

Keystone’s Austin Ion won the boys’ 32-point shooting contest, edging Moniteau’s Lake Pry by a point.

Pry scored seven points and Karns City’s Ian McElroy six in the White’s 100-83 loss to the Red in the boys all-star game.
